California Residents

This California Consumer Privacy Notice (“Notice”) supplements Roseburg Forest Products’ (“Roseburg”) Privacy Policy and applies exclusively to the personal information collected online and offline from California consumers.  This Notice addresses the notice and privacy rights requirements of the California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) as Amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CPRA”) and the implementing regulations.  The provisions of this Notice are not intended to limit the applicability of the Roseburg Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

Roseburg (“we”) collects information that identifies, relates to, describes, references, is capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with you or your device (“personal information”).  We may have collected the following categories of personal information about consumers as defined under the CCPA and CPRA within the last twelve (12) months:

We will not use your personal information for purposes other than those listed in this notice without providing you with an updated notice that details supplemental uses.

We will only keep your personal information as long as it is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it is collected.  If we are required by law to retain your personal information, we will retain it as long as is required by the applicable law.

We obtain the information listed above from the following sources:

  • Directly from you. For example, from forms you complete on our website or job application portal, when you participate in market research activities or contests, when you elect to receive business alerts or newsletters, when you visit our facilities, when you provide information about an incident or allegation and when you apply for a scholarship, grant or award.
  • Indirectly from you. For example, from observing your actions on our website or job application portal.
  • From third-parties including social media companies such as Facebook
  • Cookies keep track of your visits to websites and activity online. A cookie is a small piece of data that is stored on your computer, tablet, or phone. Roseburg Forest Products Co uses cookies and similar technologies to collect additional website usage data and to operate our services. Cookies are required for certain parts of our services such as retrieving stored information, such as the date and time of your visit to our site. You can choose not to allow some type of cookies. However, some of our services, such as retrieval of your information, may not function properly if you disable cookies.  When your browser or device allows it, we use both session cookies and persistent cookies to better understand how you interact with our services, to monitor aggregate usage patterns, and to personalize and otherwise operate our services such as by providing account security or personalizing the content we show you. Under no circumstances will Roseburg Forest Products Co track users’ individual activity on the Internet outside of the website or application from which the technology originates; share the data obtained through such technologies, without the user’s explicit consent; cross-reference, without the user’s explicit consent, any data gathered from web measurement and customization technologies against personal data to determine individual-level online activity; or collect personal data without the user’s explicit consent in any fashion.

Use of Personal Information

We may use or disclose your personal information for one or more of the following business purposes:

  • To create and maintain your account on Roseburg.com or RCAP.com.
  • Auditing related to counting ad impressions of unique visitors, verifying positioning and quality of ad impressions, and auditing compliance with this specification and other standards.
  • Helping to ensure security and integrity of personal information
  • Debugging to identify and repair errors that impair existing intended website functionality
  • Short-term, transient use, including, but not limited to, non-personalized advertising to improve our interaction with you online. Your information will not be disclosed to a third party, used to build a profile about you or otherwise alter your future experiences with Roseburg.
  • Performing services including maintaining or servicing your account, providing customer service, processing or fulfilling orders and transactions, verifying your information, processing payments, providing financing, providing analytic services, responding to inquiries about our products or services, or providing similar services.
  • Providing you with advertising and marketing services, except for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • Internal research for technological development and demonstration.
  • Undertaking activities to verify or maintain the quality or safety of a service or device that is owned, manufactured, manufactured for, or controlled by Roseburg, and to improve, upgrade, or enhance the service or device that is owned, manufactured, manufactured for, or controlled by Roseburg.
  • To comply with applicable laws, court orders, or governmental regulations.

We do not use or disclose your sensitive personal information for purposes other than:

  • Performing services requested or providing goods sold.
  • To prevent, detect, and investigate security incidents that compromise the availability, authenticity, integrity or confidentiality of stored or transmitted personal information.
  • To resist malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal actions directed at Roseburg and to prosecute those responsible for such actions.
  • To ensure the physical safety of our team members, customers, and community members.
  • For short-term transient uses, including, but not limited to, nonpersonalized advertising. This information will not be shared with third parties.
  • To perform services requested by you, such as providing information about products.
  • To maintain the quality and safety of our products and to upgrade or enhance our products.
  • Inferring characteristics about you.

Disclosure or Sale of Personal Information

We may disclose, or have disclosed during the 12-month period prior to the effective date of this Notice, your personal information with certain categories of third parties, including as described in our Privacy Policy and below, including for the business purposes described above.

We do not sell your personal information in exchange for monetary compensation or other valuable consideration. We do not collect, share, or sell the personal information of minors under 16 years of age.

California Consumer Privacy Rights

As a California Consumer, you have certain rights regarding our use and disclosure of your personal information, subject to relevant exceptions under applicable law, as described below.

Access: You may have the right to request, twice in a 12-month period, that we disclose to you the categories of personal information we have collected, the categories of sources from where we collected your personal information, the business purpose for which we collected or transferred your personal information, the categories of third parties to whom we have disclosed your personal information, and certain specific pieces of personal information we have collected since January 1, 2022.

Deletion: You have the right to request that we delete certain personal information we have collected from you. Please note that the CCPA and CPRA include a number of exceptions that allow us to retain your personal information even if you ask us to delete it.

Correction: You have the right to request that we correct any inaccurate information we hold about you.

Restriction of Use or Disclosure:  You have the right to ask us to refrain from sharing your personal information with third parties for direct marketing purposes.

Process for Responding to California Consumer Privacy Rights Request

Acknowledgement: We will confirm receipt of your request within ten (10) days of the date your request is received and provide you with additional information about how we will process your request.  We will include a description of our verification process and an approximation of when we will send you a substantive response.

Substantive Response: We will respond to your verifiable request within forty-five (45) days of our receipt of your request.  If we are unable to verify your identity within this 45 day window, we will deny your request.  Depending on the nature and complexity of your request, we may notify you within this 45 day window that we will take an additional 45 days to process your request.  We will also provide you with an explanation as to why the additional 45 days is necessary.  We will deliver the written response by mail, e-mail, or through your online account (if you have one) at your option.

Any disclosures we provide will cover only the information collected after January 1, 2022.  If we cannot comply with your request, we will explain why. If you have requested to know what specific Personal Information we collected, we will provide that information to you via mail or e-mail, at your option.  We may be required to verify your identity a second time before we can finally comply with your request.  This second verification is intended to protect your privacy and maintain security.

We do not charge a fee to process or respond to a verifiable consumer request unless it is excessive, repetitive, or manifestly unfounded. If we determine that the request warrants a fee, we will tell you why and provide you with a cost estimate before completing the request.

Verifying Your Identity: To help protect your privacy and maintain security, we will take steps to verify your identity before granting you access to your personal information or complying with your request. If you request access to, deletion, or correction of your personal information, we may require you to provide certain information to help us identify you. In addition, if you ask us to provide you with specific pieces of personal information, we will require you to sign a declaration under penalty of perjury that you are the consumer whose personal information is the subject of the request.

Requests by Authorized Agents: If you are an authorized agent acting on behalf of a California resident, please send your request to [email protected] and include the following information about you and the person on whose behalf you are submitting the request: full name, mailing address, email address, and phone number. You should also provide proof of your authorization to act on the other person's behalf in the form of a document signed by the consumer. We will contact you for additional information once your request has been received.  We will contact the consumer to confirm the consumer’s identity and that the consumer authorized you to submit the request.  If the consumer has provided you with a valid power of attorney, the final 3 steps listed above may not be required.

Additional Information: If you choose to exercise any of your rights under the CCPA or CPRA, you have the right to not receive discriminatory treatment by us.  Roseburg will in no way retaliate against employees, applicants for employment, or independent contractors in response to the consumer making an information request.

Financial Incentives:  We may collect and use personal information such as your email address and zip code in connection with promotional offers and coupons. These financial incentives are not determined or adjusted on the basis of whether you exercised your rights under the CCPA and are permitted by the CCPA because the incentives we offer to you are reasonably related to the value provided to us by your personal information. You may opt-in to these incentives by providing your information at the relevant collection point.
